Being Doctors in India

1. We as a doctor condemn any kind of violence against any kind of doctor.
2. We condemn the incidence happened at NRS Hospital
3. As far as we know this is not the 1st of its kind. In past there are many such incidences happened in almost all states of India.
4. We always believed that there must be unity among doctors and we all should fight for the benefit and security of each and every member of our fraternity but it never happened.
5. Now the questions come in our minds are
a. Why there is so much hue and cry this time?
b. Do we have, really united?
c. Are we used by dirty politicians to secure their ultimate goals in West Bengal?
6. Since beginning of my carrier in Medical College We are witness that Students and Residents go on strike, Strike continue for a few days to month and then suddenly one of our members become agent of Government and dissolve the strike by giving false promises which are never fulfilled by Government.
7. Even incidences bigger than this have happened in many other states in past but nothing like this has happened. This is surely a politically supported agitation against State Government with ulterior motives.
8. Whatever may be the political agenda of any party doctors should try to gain something good and positive out of it but beware do not become a tool in the hands of political parties.
9. In last few days we all have seen that rather than asking a concrete nationwide law (Which is the function of National Government) to protect doctor, in most of our posts we are trying to portray State Government and Mamta Bannerjee as villain. It clearly proves that we have become tool in the hands of one political party to prove that the local Government is inefficient and anti-doctor.
10. Let us ask National Government what they have done till date to protect the doctors. We all are witness that almost every National Government scheme and even speeches of national leaders are ANTI-DOCTOR.
a. CEA
b. NMC
c. Recent amendments in PC-PNDT
d. CPA – Amendment Bill
e. ART Draft
f. Surrogacy Bill
g. Caesarean Rate
h. Oxytocin Ban
i. Chiranjeevi Yojana
j. Ayushyaman Bharat
Do you need any more examples. Aren’t they all anti-doctor.
11. My humble request to my each and every fellow doctor
a. Condemn every incidence of violence with all might and unity
b. Fight such situations legally
c. Rather than targeting any State Government ask National Government to do something positive for DOCTORS.
d. “UNITY IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR” but beware of not becoming tool in the hands of selfish politicians who have no interest in improving your condition.
12. EVERYTHING IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR
a. Only 100% shut down will prove effective, everything else will go in vain.
b. Only Central Rule at National level to protect doctors will bring some change.
c. We have nothing to do with any State or National Government but try to exploit this situation and take benefit of this situation in the interest of our fraternity if at all possible.
We wish us all the best.
