1. Doctors are most vulnerable to get infected with covid as we meet a large number of people across geography, socioeconomic strata and educational background. Behavioural pattern of our patients depends on all these factors.
2. We have a responsibility not only towards society but our family too. In this pandemic be aware of your duty towards your *family first.*
3. Nobody is going to give you medal for your commitment to the profession but *your family is going to suffer and miss you for ever if you succumb to covid*. Always remember that जन पळभर म्हणतील हाय हाय ..
4. Covid is going to drain you economically too. It is going to deplete your reserves as I am seeing it around.
*What to do then???*
1. Take all standard
precautions.
2. Reduce your work load by
50 percent. Plan your
appointments and avoid
crowding in the opds.
Restrict visitors strictly.
3. Take more care while
operating.
4. *Hike your fees to compensate for the loss in workload and risk you take while treating*
5. All our associations need to be pro active to safeguard our interests. May be, we should decide on minimum charges for common procedures at the earliest.
6. Ignore threats of the government about billing.
7. Think seriously to *increase mediclaim* for self and dependents. All below 50 must take *term life insurance* of appropriate amount. Rs. 1 cr plus.
8. Boost your immunity both by medicines and exercises (yoga, pranayaam and aerobic ex).
